Fly Fishing Classes

Trout Trips offers a variety of classes to accomodate every ability, age, and schedule. Sign up early, as class size is limited.

Bug Class at riverside. Flyfishing Classes

Our Fall class series is a Beginning Fly Fishing class for adults. Each 3-evening class covers the basics of flyfishing in 6 hours of classroom time followed by an evening of fishing on private water. Each class session meets 6pm-9pm. Class size is kept small to ensure more personalized learning (4-9 people). Location, cost and dates are listed below.

Prices include professional teaching instruction, class hand-outs on all info taught, access to the classroom and to private water, and flies. Bring your own drinking water and provide your transportation. Equipment may be rented for $10.00/person.

The classroom session includes:

  • Information on the latest equipment.
  • Leader set-ups.
  • Knots.
  • Casting techniques.
  • Entomology.
  • Discussion on trout behavior.
  • Class hand-out.

The on-water day includes:

  • Casting on water.
  • Learning to read the water and how to spot fish.
  • Learning and fishing nymphs, dry flies and streamers.
  • Rod & reel.
  • Fee for the private water.
  • Fee for additional instructor/guides.

Cast and Catch Class

Fly Fishing releasing Rainbow - Trout Trips guided flyfishingThis 1/2 day class will focus on casting on a lake full of trout, perch, and bass. Fly Casting instruction will include the basic fundamentals of casting, including roll casts and casting with streamers, dries, and nymphs. During the last part of the class we will fish for trout, perch and bass.

Our Private Lake is located only 20 minutes from the Denver area. Our Instructors are Professional/Certified Casting Instructors and Guides in Colorado.

Each class meets 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Cost is $50.00/person. (4-person minimum enrollment per class.)

Registrants will be given directions to the class destination.

Provide your own equipment or rent ours. Rental fee is $10/pp and must be reserved at time of registration.
